Here you will find information on what Farmers’ Rights are about and why they matter. You can read about the contents of Farmers’ Rights and how these contents have developed historically. You will find comprehensive information about the many options available for the realization of these rights and steps that can be taken at the national level to make it happen. You will also find a detailed account of the negotiations on Farmers’ Rights under the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (Plant Treaty), which will be continuously updated. The section on the state of realization of Farmers’ Rights is still in the making and will be posted later.
